On top of the Sermon on the Mount

We hiked down to that pointy mountain in the distance. This mountain was Gamla.

The night we got to eat out.

Daily life- cisterns, oil press, caves

I had so much fun going through all these small spaces- small holes for small places- my calling in life.


It was a small tunnel that lead to a big opening and then there were many small tunnels to go into. These holes in the walls were for ashes of people who died.
Micah's Cave: these caves were used for refuge for many centuries. Families would stay here for periods of time when there was trouble.

Bell Caves- used for Limestone Material: It had the best acoustics.

We sang songs in the Cistern, and it sounded beautiful. These cisterns would fill up with water and used during the dry seasons- used for baths, drinking water, storage, the oil presses and so on.

They crused the olives here. When they crush them the pulp is red (like Christ's blood).
Olive press-They would mash up the olives then put them in the bags under the wood, then they would weigh it down to squeeze all the oil out of it. The oil is symbolic of Christ sacrifice and that is what we use for blessings.

Our Golieth for us to aim at. Yeah not many of us hit it.

It is a lot harder then it looks that is for sure.

The sunset was the best part.

Then we ate at a nice resturant on the beach. Oh how I love Tel Aviv, away from homework and professors.

Then we played Red Rover and I got closed lined and fell hard...it was hilarious

It is a jelly fish, but I think it is dead.

Tel Aviv

We got icecream and just hung at the beach. We could not swim because there were no lifeguards but we had a good time. I am with Eric and John

John got scard..haha...you can see our castle in the back. We tried to make sphinx.

TEL AVIV

Oh how I love Tel Aviv. It is where the airport is where we flew in. A group of 22 of us went. I am in charge of the out of Jerusalem activities so I had to plan it.

We went to Old Jaffa which is known as Jappa in the Old Testament. A really cool city with a lot of markets and fun things to see.

We went to a flea market which is really a REALLY BIG garage sell.
